METHOD STATEMENT FOR REPAIR OF SHOULDERS IN HIGHWAY PROJECT.

 

                            Repair of Shoulders

 

Scope: 

The Work of maintenance of Earthen Shoulder shall include making up the irregularities of material on Shoulder to the design Level by adding fresh approved Soil and compacting it.

 

Material:

 The material to be added to the Shoulder if required shall be select soil confirming to Specification.

 

Construction Procedure:

 Wherever extra earth is required to be added the earthen shoulder shall be loosened to receive fresh soil. The work is carried out in layer having maximum loose thickness is 250 mm. Water shall be added, if required to attain the optimum amount and the Layer Compacted by 80 to 100 KN smooth wheel Roller, Vibratory Roller, Hand Roller to obtain at least 94 percent of the maximum dry density in accordance with IS: 2720 (Part 8). The finish surface shall have the specified Cross Slope and line as per directed by Engineer. Dismantling of Paved Existing Shoulder shall be paid in BOQ. Shoulder maintenance will be paid under BOQ item. Shoulder width shall be 2.50 mtr.

Environment and Safety:

Full regard for the safety of all persons entitled to be upon the site and keep the site and the works in an orderly state appropriate to the avoidance of danger to such persons. All necessary measures for the safety of traffic during construction shall be taken.

The plants and equipment used for construction shall confirm to noise standards.

All vehicle, equipments and machinery used for construction shall be regularly maintained to ensure that the pollution level conform to the norms.
