METHODOLOGY FOR PAVEMENT QUALITY CONCRETE MANUALLY

 

                             PAVEMENT QUALITY  CONCRETE MANUALLY

 In this article, we will see for road construction Pavement Quality Control (PQC) manually laying procedure.

       

1. Material      :           Source of Material is appended below.

 

a) Coarse Aggregate                           :          Quarry

2. Mix Design             :           The Mix Design will be used as approved earlier by Engineer.

 

3. Construction Process :

 

a) Preparation of Surface        : Manual Brooming will be carried out to clean DLC surface

before laying separation membrane. Separation membrane will be fixed on the surface be nailing it.

b) Concrete production           : Concrete will be produced in the Batching Plant which has automatic control fully computerized  so as to ensure accurate proportioning and mixing. Slump control will be maintained at Batching Plant.

c) Transportation                     : Concrete discharged through mixer of Batching Plant will be transported directly to site through Dumpers.

4. Placing                    :          

 

a)      The work will be carried out manually and the shuttering will be fixed longitudinally with a panel of 4.5 M.

b)      The alignment of the Shuttering will be checked by Engineer’s Representative.

c)      Concrete shall be spread in the panel manually by Forks / Showals within the Paving area and concrete will be vibrated  and compacted  through needle vibrators to achieve required  level of compaction.

d)     Dowel Bar’s will be placed manually and the same will be inserted through Fork upto the desired level.

e)      The Bar’s will be placed longitudinally by fixing the Tie Bars in the Shuttering Channels.

f)       Finishing of Concrete Surface at the required level will be carried out by moving screed on shuttering channel.

g)      Featuring shall be done by Brush with a handle and the same will be moved horizontally  to achieve depth of 1.0 mm thickness

 

5. Curing                    :          

 

Curing will commerce as soon as the completion of concrete surface. Curing  compound will be sprinkled as per technical specifications and moist Hessain cloth will cover the concrete surface.

 

6. Tolerance               :          

 

The tolerance for surface regulatory level, thickness and strength shall confirm to the requirement as per technical specifications

 

7. Machinery and Manpower :

 

            Machinery & manpower will be deployed as appended below.

            1)         Batching Plant                        -           120 cum / hr

            2)         Shuttering Sets with Channel -           2 Sets

            3)         Texturing Brush with handle  -           1         

            4)         Dumpers                                  -           15

            5)         Concrete Saw                          -           01

8. Environmental Safety       :

 

1)      Water will obtain from the bore wells situated at Camp sites 

2)      The Batching Plants are situated at our Camp Sites  and water sprinklers will be installed to minimize dust & cement in the localities.

3)      Fuel storage and Refueling at site are in the camp sites and strict supervision will be maintained  to stop spillage or leakage to any near by water bodies.

4)    mechanical staff will maintain Batching Plant & other related equipments regularly to reduce noise and atmospheric pollution.

5)      The construction vehicles, machineries and equipments will move in designated are so it prevents compaction of any type of vegetation and plants.

6)      All workers will be suitably provided with safety guards at the site.

7)      Safety signals & sign boards will be provided at every 200 m at the construction camp.
