TURFING OF SLOPES, SHOULDERS AND MEDIAN OF EMBANKMENT

Scope of Work :

Furnishing & Laying of live sods as to form grass on embankment slopes, verges and median as per the Technical Specifications

Materials :

The materials proposed to be used are Local doob grass, Lemon or Lepia grass, Local sarpat grass, Long leaved carpet grass and /or as approved by the Engineer. All the materials used shall be devoid of any undesirable materials especially weeds etc.

1.  The area to be turfed shall have been previously constructed to the required slope  / cross-section or else it shall be prepared to 2: 1 slope and checked by template for continuity & exactness of slope.

  2.   The soil on the area to be turfed shall be loosed upto a depth of 25 mm and                 made free of all undesirable foreign material.

3.  Where required fertilizer / manure shall be spread at a uniform rate by discing or any other method as approved by the Engineer.
